New Range announcement.

Can someone tell me, please, where the time goes?
I think this would have to be my big question in life.
Last post it was Christmas, we've been and gone on our annual surf trip up the mid north coast of N.S.W. and now Easter has been and gone.......

Thanks to everyone who came to Red
Hill markets on Easter Saturday! The day was a "pearler". The sun was out, the sky blue and everyone was out and about.

It seems people are taking a shine to not only the doorstops, but also to my beanbags! I will be updating my website in the next few weeks to include my entire range of beanbags in the online store. Stay tuned!

Alas the season for me has ended at Red Hill, the winter is nearly upon us.....this means awesome surf for this black duck, but most importantly time for me to settle in and create those long awaited baby bags for mum's and
the much requested nappy change mats. I have been talking to all my mum mates and sounding them out for the pro's and con's to 'baby bits'. I look forward to getting a new range to you all in spring! My new fabrics arrived last week.....it's very exciting.

Till next time....keep warm, keep smiling, and remember that my website is open for business even though the markets aren't!

Don't forget that I am more than happy to do custom orders, like the one pictured at the top of the page for Lisa.

Cheers,
Lynneke

Website up and running!

Hi there my friends,

Finally my website is here! I'm sorry it's taken soooo long to create but websites can be a minefield! Especially for the not so technically gifted.

I ended up following the K.I.S.S. concept (keep it simple stupid).
I do hope you all like it.
If you have any problems navigating it or if there are things that don't quite seem to work, please let me know.

Christmas is nearly upon us, ..... does anyone know where the year went?
Market day is fast approaching. Red Hill Christmas market is on the 5th December.
Come and say Hi, I will be at my usual spot up near the playground, with plenty of well priced gifts for your family and friends.

I now have wheat bags for your those tired aching muscles- modern AND pretty, and I have some beautiful cushions in Amy Butler and Joel Dewberry fabrics.
50cm x 50xcm scatter cushions, 45cm x 30cm lumbar cushions, and 65cm x 30cm occassional cushions - all filled with luxurious feathers! Soft and downy, very very comfortable.

Come and say hi! I'd love to see you there.

Enjoy these lazy days of Summer!

Cheers,
Lynneke

Hey there friends!

Spring has certainly sprung, and the scent of Summer is in the air.
The gardens are green and the sky blue....and we have a few extra hours in the day.

I have a new range of cushions now available, and my tote bags are out there too!
In line with my new products I am launching my website by the end of October. Just in time for Christmas. And the year went where I ask?

If you'd like to purchase anything from me before my website is launched, http://www.handmadebylynneke.com,
please follow the email link on this blog. Alternately if you have any problems with my website feel free to let me know too!

Have a great day.
Enjoy.

Hi everyone,

Today I visited a lovely shop.
mac pelican is it's name, you'll find it at 842 Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn.
Amber has some beautiful things in her store, most of which are locally made, or at least Australian made....including a few of my doorstops! Thank you Amber. If you're in the area pay a visit to her delightful store.

I also have a new product coming up for this spring....a couple of tote bags. Most of them are denim, but when you look at the inside, there's a hidden surprise. A burst of quirky colour!

Will update again sooner than later.

Cheers,
Lynneke.

I'm in trouble! Apparently it's been a long time since I updated my blog.Sorry Sarah. O.K. Update....let's see what's been going on?
To be honest, not much. Market season is over till October, the last market I was at was in April. Surprisingly, it only drizzled in the morning and the market was a success. Maybe because my products are still affordable, even when people have to tighten their belts!
Now it's time to work on next season. For Spring I'm going to start to include scatter cushions and floor cushions in my range. The shoot I made things for, for Real Living magazine (see pic above) inspired me. Cushions are FUN!!!!
I'm also going to make slingbags for the 'tweens' that are still a bit too small for my standard slings.
There is also a small pouch purse in the pipeline...a little bit dressier....ssshhh! It's a surprise.
Now market is over for a bit I promise I will work on my website...promise. It's time.
Another thing I did was a 'party plan'. Now this was something different for me, Jane bought one of my bags from the markets and had so many comments on it when she dropped the kids off at school, she had the smart idea to call me and ask if I'd do a party with my bags...very clever lady!

Speaking of clever, my friend Michael has created a fantastic screen print for peoples wall's. If you live Bayside, go to "Gypsies" in Beaumaris to have a close up look....it is STUNNING! It is a take on the old bus sides they used to have. He is a very very clever man. Michael is more than happy to customize one for you too! You name the destinations. He's making a Northern Beaches one for me at the moment (my old stomping ground in Sydney), but with a blue background. The best thing....they really are well priced for the work that goes into them! Have a look at his blog! johnsonwatersdesign.blogspot.com

Enough blurb from me. I promise it won't be so long next time.
Cheers,
XLynneke.

Hi ya,
It's been a while since my last post, I do apologise, and it's for no specific reason either. The surf hasn't been that fantastic, christmas has been and gone.....I'm just going to blame it on the heat!
Thanks to those of you who trekked up to Red Hill on the weekend, I hope you love your purchases, and to those that didn't make it...I totally understand.
By the time we packed up, and we did that early, it had reached 42 degrees. As for the gusts of wind making the umbrella's fly...mother nature weilds her wrath!
I digress.
The pic above is a fabric that arrived a few weeks ago. To me it says "very pretty summer". I love it. It has a baby blue cousin too, and it too is very pretty. It has a calming effect. I'm going to do some little scatter cushions in it too....
My next post will feature my beanbags, as I have promised a friend of mine to put some pics up. And someday, I will find a way to do a slide show of all my fabrics and products available. This technology stuff is all trial and error with me....sorry.
Enjoy your day as best you can,
XLynneke

Hey there, just a really quick addition to my posts, I've been neglecting my sling bags. These are just a few of my bags I have, there are plenty more styles in stock, and plenty more to come in the new year. Above is style AB30 in Pink, Blue and Tangerine.

New for the season...The Forest Pods range.L to R : Olive, Seagreen, Aqua. I am also expecting a shipment of new fabric including a pink in this style.

All my bags are fully lined, reversible if you want them to be, and all have a nifty pocket for your mobile....nothing worse than missing a call because it's buried in your bag.
The sling, for those of you unaware, is designed to be worn diagonally across your body allowing your hands to be free. Hands free shopping! Could it get any better?
There will be more pics to follow.....it's really quite tricky taking photo's of slings and making them look good...and doing justice to the beautiful fabrics!

Hope to see some of you at the markets this February...that's Saturday the 7th!
See you then.

Cheers,
XLynneke.

A big "Thank You" to those of you who came to say Hi at Red Hill on the weekend. After a little drizzle it turned out to be a lovely day. Thanks to those who bought slouch bags, beanbags, doorstops, laptop sleeves and my latest product...the yoga mat bags. I hope you all enjoy using them, or those of you that bought them as chrissy pressies- I hope the recipient enjoys their gift.
For those of you that couldn't get to Red Hill feel free to email me. I'm sure we can work something out.
Enjoy your day,
Thank you all again.....
Lets hope mother nature brings us some surf soon!

Hey there my friends,
Here's a photo of my new 'Big Kahuna' doorstop.
It should hold pretty much any size door open! It stands 22cm high, is 18cm wide at the base, and weighs at least 6kgs!
I am in the process of taking more photo's of my bags and beanbags....stay tuned.

For those of you newly visiting my blog, a big "Welcome" to you. If you're interested in purchasing anything, or wish to see anything else I'm doing, please feel free to contact me. There's a link on 'my personal profile' for you to email me.
Or come and visit me at Red Hill Market on December 6th, Christmas is around the corner and I have plenty of stock. My standard sling bag's are under $50! I make them all too.....nothing imported about these....all aussie made.

I have to take a moment to say a big 'Thank You' to my friends Nick and Clair (see my clever cookies links) for helping me into the 21st century with this blog.
Check out Nick's great T-shirts in December edition of Real Living Magazine. They're very cool! He also does some wickedly funny tea towels. Check out his website too.....

Keep smiling, Enjoy the summer sunshine,

Cheers,
Lynneke

Welcome to my blog!
I hope I don't bore you to tears, but I wanted to share what I've been creating with you.
For my Spring/Summer Range I've used a lot more of Amy Butler's beautiful fabrics. I find them hard to resist. They are bright and breezy, they are great quality and put simply, they are inspiring. It's wonderful to sew my slouch
bags and laptop sleeves using her fabric.
For those of you who prefer the more subdued but still groovy fabrics, never fear.
I have plenty of these in stock.
Fortunately,Red Hill Markets have allowed me back this season. You'll find me at every second market they have, 6th December, 7th February, 4th April.
I'll be at my usual spot up near the playground. Leave your hubby and
the kids at the playground and come visit my stall. Spoil yourself, or buy a christmas gift for someone else.
I still have my beanbags and doorstops, and a few new additions..
the 'Big Kahuna' doorstop, weighing 6kgs...(not shown yet)...
and my new 'Yoga Mat Bag', the perfect reason to dust off that mat and head out to a class, or practise in the park.
Hope to see you at market.
Cheers,
Lynneke.
These doorstops are my classic style, they will hold your standard door open, they weigh approx 1.3kg (at least). They are filled with Bio-dynamic wheat and Lavender. Available in these colours and many more to choose from.
